Another blast of wintry weather is on the way for the Avalon Peninsula. But, unlike the storm earlier this week, this one will be in and out in half a day.
The system from earlier in the week dumped a staggering 80 cm of snow in Gander, while the metro region received over 50 cm.
Snowfall warnings are currently in effect for the entire Avalon Peninsula.
Environment Canada meteorologist Justin Boudreau says the snow will begin overnight, with between 15 and 20 cm expected when all is said and done tomorrow afternoon.
As Boudreau explains the temperatures will be around the freezing mark, and some areas could see a changeover to rain.
He says parts of the southern Avalon will either change completely to rain, or mix with snow, for a few hours before changing back to snow.
He says winds will be a factor in the afternoon.
They will begin around lunchtime and stick around for a few hours. Boudreau says there is a wind warning in effect for the southeastern Avalon, which could see up around 100 km/h. Most other areas will have winds around 80 km/h.
