One man is in custody following a dramatic series of events in the west end of St. John’s and Goulds early Saturday morning.
RNC say it began with a report of a stolen truck that was subsequently used to rob a business in the Cowan Heights area.
Police were called and tracked down the vehicle thanks to multiple public sightings of it speeding through neighbourhoods.
At one point several police vehicles corner the suspect but he slams into a police car and escapes, though no injuries were reported.

The incident finally came to an end when the suspect was arrested around noon Saturday following a traffic stop.
Police did not say how the the person ended up in another vehicle.
A slew of charges are pending against the accused, who was not identified, but remains in custody pending an appearance before a judge.
Meanwhile, police say a single-vehicle crash on Carrick Drive Saturday was the result of slippery roads.
An SUV plowed into a snowbank and knocked down a light pole on the busy, east-end thoroughfare.
There were no reported injuries.
