Eastern Newfoundland will get a bit of a break from old man winter after another dumping of snow came down on the region this morning.
Environment Canada meteorologist Ali Jalali says official numbers from St. John’s International Airport come in at about 17 cm over the past 24 hours, but unofficial measurements from the metro region come in higher.
Unofficial weather stations measured amounts between 20 and 30 cm from Sunday’s snowfall.
He says there will be a fast moving system bringing snow to the metro region tomorrow, but nothing of concern.
Though it is early, forecasters are keeping an eye on the potential for more winter weather on Thursday.
The southeastern part of the island could see a mixed bag of snow, freezing rain, and rain on Thursday evening, but it is too early for any specifics.
