An overwhelming number of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians prefer small, local pharmacies and clinics over facilities operated by chains.
That’s according to a new survey from Wagepoint, who say 92 per cent of people in this province believe they get better service at small retailers and clinics.
CEO Shad Rao says many people have a desire to support local because they feel they have a better relationship with staff and health care providers which results in better treatment.
He says those surveyed believe a small clinic allows them to connect with their provider on a human level and believe they have the best interest of the patient, rather than going to a chain provider where people believe the focus is on profits.
