The relentless winter on eastern areas of the island continues with a mix of snow, ice and rain on the way Thursday night and into Friday.
The Avalon Peninsula could see several hours of freezing rain Thursday night before it changes to rain overnight. The amount of water could, with all that snow on the ground, create rapid run-off.
The Clarenville-Terra Nova area is likely in for a heavier snow content before the changeover says meteorologist Melissa Field. However, the line between snow and water is thin.
The Gander area could be in for 10-20 cm of snow.
