RCMP have received the results of a blood sample taken from a man following a fatal crash near Arnold’s Cove a month ago today.
But they’re not saying what the results show.
The two-vehicle head-on collision on January 21 claimed the lives of two young women, both aged 22, who were in one car.
The 71-year-old driver of the other vehicle was pulled from his burning SUV and, according to RCMP, showed signs of impairment.
A news release at the time said police were awaiting results of a blood sample “to determine if charges, including impaired driving causing death, were appropriate.”

RCMP confirmed today they have received the blood sample results, but they’re refusing to say what they show.
In a statement, they said other evidence will help inform next steps, adding “investigations such as these are complex in nature.”
They do say no charges have been laid and that the blood sample results won’t be shared while the investigation continues.
