Craig Pope’s name was called in provincial court this past Friday, but it had nothing to do with his recent conviction for second-degree murder.
Pope and another man were arrested and charged with stealing a vehicle on November 12th of last year—that was just two days before the start of Pope’s murder trial.
He had been free on conditions since being charged—conditions he’s now accused of disobeying, in addition to the alleged car theft.
Pope is facing a life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 10 years in the stabbing death of Jonathan Collins.

It happened at the intersection of Mundy Pond Road and Alderberry Lane in 2017.
Pope is scheduled to be sentenced for the murder on Thursday.
His lawyer, Mark Gruchy, asked for and was granted a postponement on the other charges until the more serious matter is dealt with.
Those other charges will be called on April 9.
