The provincial Liberal Party hosted its annual Evening with the Premier event last night.

The ballroom at the Delta Hotel in downtown St. John’s was draped in a red hue for the event, which is one of the party’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

The room itself was packed with supporters, who paid a hefty price tag of $500 per ticket to be there.

Among those in attendance were some prominent business groups. Among them World Energy GH2, Everwind Fuels, KMK Capital, Horizon Maritime, and Allnorth.

The evening featured live music, a three course meal, a speech from Premier Andrew Furey, and a Q and A session.

Furey says the event signals energy and support for the party and momentum in the province.

He says they have an aggressive social and industrial agenda, and the event is a sign of “real momentum moving forward” for the party.
