Today marks the grand opening for Twin Ponds Wilderness Lodge in central Newfoundland.
Many may be familiar with, or have fond memories of, the old Salvation Army Camp in central Newfoundland.
Rally Drilling Services Inc. purchased the site, some 20 kms outside Gander, initially to house workers. However, it quickly turned into an opportunity for people from central Newfoundland and beyond to indulge in the wilderness and scenery.

Danielle Coates, event coordinator and social media manager with Twin Ponds Wilderness Lodge, says they’ve worked tirelessly over the last couple of months to get things up and running.
She says there will be an event tent with live music and much more at this evening’s celebration.
There will be free food, a bonfire for all ages, sliding, snowman-building contests, bubble painting and snowshoe races.
The event begins at 5 p.m.
