A New Brunswick man is facing drug and weapons charges in connection with a recent traffic stop on the Great Northern Peninsula.
St. Anthony RCMP say 43-year-old Derek Gillis was arrested following a traffic stop Thursday evening.
A search of his vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cocaine, cash, unstamped tobacco, an imitation firearm and other items.
Gillis is charged with possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5000, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
The investigation continues.
