It was an important, bounce-back win for the Brad Gushue foursome at the Brier in Regina, Sask., last night.
Gushue’s Team Canada rink knocked off rival Kevin Koe of Alberta 8-3 in the late draw Monday. That followed a stunning 7-5 loss to Koe’s brother Jamie, and his Northwest Territories team earlier in the day.
It’s the first time the Northwest Territories have beaten Team Canada at a Brier.
Gushue now sits at 3-2, good for fourth place in Pool B. The top three teams from each pool make it through to the playoffs.
They have just one match today, that being against Nunavut at 4:30 Newfoundland time.
Meanwhile, Andrew Symonds’ Newfoundland and Labrador rink has yet to find its way into the win column.
Symonds is winless in four games, with one match today at 11:30 this morning.
