Investigators are treating the death of a woman whose body was found in Outer Cove on Tuesday as a homicide.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says officers were called to a vacant property in the community around 10:00 Tuesday morning to find the body of a woman inside.
The exact cause of death is under investigation by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office.
RNC say the victim was last seen in the area of Middleton Street in the capital city’s east end.
Cadigan says the woman’s death appears to be targeted, and while they have a suspect identified, they’re looking for more information as they conduct their investigation.
They’re asking anyone with dash cam or surveillance video from Middleton Street between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5 to contact RNC. They’re particularly interested in video footage of a blue four-door Hyundai Elantra that drove from Middleton Street to Liam Drive in Outer Cove where the woman’s body was found.
Cadigan says the suspect and victim were known to one another, and there is no danger to the public.
