Today’s Corner Brook city council meeting has been postponed following the sudden passing of Corner Brook city manager, Rodney Cumby.
Cumby held the position of city manager for the last five years, and had an extensive background in municipal management.
Mayor Jim Parsons shared the news on the city’s this afternoon.
Parsons calls Cumby “immensely kind” and “empathetic” and made fast friends everywhere he went.
Parsons says although Cumby had only been in Corner Brook for a handful of years, he built a large social network in the city, particularly through the hockey community.
Parsons is passing his condolences to Cumby’s wife and boys who he called the “centre of his life.”
