The Brad Gushue Rink captured its 6th Brier Sunday night with a win over old foe Mike McEwen of Saskatchewan.
Team Canada made it to the final with a hard-fought win over Alberta Saturday night, and built up a 5-2 lead over Saskatchewan. McEwen pulled to within one after six and was threatening to steal before Gushue pulled off a double to go ahead 7-4.
Things were tight all the way as Saskatchewan clawed to within 2 after 8 but Canada had the hammer and won 9-5 for their third consecutive Brier.
Gushue will now represent Canada at the world championship.
Record-tying sixth Brier title!
