The capital city saw a tremendous amount of snow on the weekend and navigating city streets is still a challenge with narrow cuts on some roads and tall snowbanks obscuring views at many intersections.
Mayor Danny Breen met with reporters this afternoon and says all the city’s streets are open and widening operations are now underway.
Snow was removed from Water Street in the downtown last night.
Three more snow removal operations are in place for tonight. “We have contractors in place,” says Mayor Breen “because our staff are also continuing the widening of other streets in the city.” Breen says another crew is out “looking at the issues that may arise coming from flooding.”
