The province is no longer distributing free rapid COVID tests through public libraries and MHA offices.
The Department of Health contends that the distribution of rapid tests is “no longer needed in the public health management of COVID-19.”
In the meantime, anyone who has an expired rapid test can dispose of them in their household garbage.
Rapid test kits are still available through community pharmacies and will be provided to those who may be eligible for Paxlovid at no charge.
Public Health is working with public libraries and MHA offices in the coming weeks to arrange for disposal of expired tests.
