Lawyers for three people charged in a bizarre child kidnapping case were back before a judge this week.
But with still thousands of pages of information to sift through, little progress was made.
The man at the centre of the case, 73-year-old Will Crockwell, is charged with child luring and child abduction. He’s accused of coaching a 14-year-old girl to leave St. John’s, meet up in central Newfoundland, and return with him to his home in New Brunswick.
The string of events, including an Amber Alert to help find the girl, played out last summer.
It’s alleged Crockwell took the ferry to this province to meet her in early June, but was arrested in Badger before the rendezvous.

Two others charged in the case — 63-year-old Erin Bast and 69-year-old Fred Boone, both of Milltown — are accused of helping Crockwell by driving the girl from St. John’s to central. They were found with the girl at a cabin along the Bay d’Espoir Highway hours after the Amber Alert was issued.
Crockwell and the girl were previously known to each other but the specifics of that relationship have yet to be released publicly.
He has been free on bail, with conditions not to contact with the girl, and to sign in regularly at the RCMP detachment near his home in New Brunswick.
In provincial court yesterday, it was noted one package of disclosure still to come includes some 10,000 pages of evidence.
With that, the case was adjourned until May 3rd to give all parties time to review and consult toward entering pleas to the charges.
