Two young people were charged with uttering threats and property damage following an incident in St. John’s yesterday afternoon.
Around 1 p.m., the RNC noticed an ATV in a snowbank in the centre city area. An officer tried to speak to the young driver, but he became aggressive with them. The driver then spat on the police cruiser and threatened the officer.
He was arrested and placed in the back of the police cruiser, however, a second young person opened the vehicle door and attempted to let the accused out.
Another officer arrived and arrested the second suspect. Both youth were charged and brought to the Youth Remand Centre to await court.
