It’s stormy/blustery in some parts of the island this morning, resulting in school closures and roads advisories.
Winds are gusting to near 100 km/h in the Wreckhouse with 10 to 15 cm of snow in the forecast, and closer to 10 cm for the south coast including the Marystown area.
The rest of the island is in for about 5 cm of snow but it will be blustery at times with winds gusting to 70 km/h.
Highway crews are telling trucks to pull over and avoid going through the Wreckhouse until winds subside this afternoon.
