A 24-year-old man was arrested in the capital city following a disturbance overnight.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the incident in the downtown area shortly after 3 a.m.

Following an investigation the 24-year-old was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

He was held at the lockup for court in the morning.
