The Community Sector Council and the city of St. John’s are hosting a volunteer fair this Tuesday at the St. John’s Farmers’ Market to connect people willing to volunteer with organizations looking for help.
Long-time volunteer Brandon Callahan calls volunteering a very worthwhile experience.
“I gained a lot of value…and I’ve made some life-long friends. It’s just sort of sad to see that we’ve…lost that connection with people.”
Some 40 local organizations will be on site. He encourages people to drop down between 10 and 6 p.m. to get a chance to connect with others, make some life-long friends and “find some new type of passion.”
