The first Uber ride to be hailed in this province comes in the capital city today.
The ride-sharing company will officially launch service in the metro area, with the first ride leaving Quidi Vidi Village over the lunch hour.
Premier Andrew Furey, Minister Sarah Stoodley, St. John’s Board of Trade CEO AnnMarie Boudreau, and Uber Canada Senior Public Policy Manager Jake Brockman will be on hand for the launch.
