New high temperature records were set across the province Thursday as the mercury pushed into the high 20’s and low 30s in many areas.
While the heat wave won’t last, temperatures that high this early in the season are unusual according to Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil.
The seasonal average for this time of year in the metro region is about 16 or 17 degrees.
Temperatures are forecast to be closer to seasonal this weekend.
