Organizers are preparing for an influx of people into downtown St. John’s on Sunday with two major events on the go.
But free Metrobus shuttles should help ease traffic congestion.
The Downtown St. John’s Santa Claus Parade starts from the Fort William Building at 12 noon.
One shuttle service travels between Confederation Building and Bannerman Park while the other will operate between the NLHC building on Columbus Drive and Mary Brown’s Centre, where the Grand Slam of Curling will be continuing with the women’s final.
Both shuttles begin at 10 a.m.
The shuttles will return following the men’s curling final to transport people back to the two pickup spots.
On the weather front, meteorologist Ian Hubbard says while there is some rain in the forecast for Saturday, that should move out early Sunday morning, well before parade time.
Hubbard says to expect sunny breaks, winds at about 30 km/h from the southwest, and temperatures in the range of 4-5 degrees Celsius.
