RDS in Quebec is reporting that the deal is done to bring a Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League team to St. John’s.
While the exact price is not yet known, it’s being reported that the Acadie-Bathurst Titan has been sold for around $5.5 million, with the relocated team playing in the Mary Browns Centre by the 2025-26 season.
The league held a board of governors meeting last week, where it’s believed the fate of the team was decided.
It’s reported that teams will fly from Halifax to St. John’s to play two-game stints, and St. John’s is expected to be on the road eight to 10 times a year.
St. John’s was the home of the QMJHL Fog Devils from 2005 to 2008.
An official announcement about the sale has not yet been made.
