RCMP are investigating what led to a collision between a snowmobile and an SUV on the Trans-Canada Highway last weekend.
It happened during the lunch hour on Saturday, Dec. 28 near South Brook, just east of West Pond Road and a few kilometres south of Springdale.
Police say an 81-year-old man was driving the snowmobile, which was towing a sled, and attempting to cross the TCH to access a trail on the other side.
The crash left the man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the woman driving the SUV suffered less serious injuries.
No charges have been laid and the investigation is continuing.
