The NL Folk Arts Society is navigating some “rough waters” – experiencing what it calls a “cash flow crunch” resulting in the temporary layoff of a number of employees.
Executive Director Diana Daly took to Facebook this week to outline the situation. The society has cut its staff and programming to minimal levels for the short term.
Folk Night and Sods n’ Yarns will continue. She says they’re continuing to work hard to ensure the long-term viability of their operations and the 2025 Folk Festival.
The organization is also reaching out to donors, sponsors, and foundations who share their passion, in addition to putting together regular funding and grant applications to increase revenue.
