A man charged in connection with a violent incident in Torbay this week is well known to police and the courts.
Forty-year-old Grant Tapper, who has a long history of violence, was arrested Wednesday night after police were called to a disturbance at a home on Torbay Road.
Police were allegedly challenged by the accused at knife point while they were speaking with people inside the home. More units were called in to de-escalate the situation, and Tapper was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon on police, two counts of assaulting a police officer, and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Tapper has a long rap sheet involving a series of violent incidents over the years. He appeared on the latest charges in provincial court yesterday.
