Members of a committee that has been leading the charge for a new high school in Paradise say they’re “very, very excited” that a site has finally been selected.
Infrastructure Minister Fred Hutton and Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell announced that the new school will be located on Diane Whelan Drive, directly across the street from Paradise Intermediate.
Erin Furlong, a mom of 2 young children, is a member of the Paradise Needs a High School committee.
She says having the school in the town would make a “huge difference” for her family’s lives.
Furlong told VOCM News it will mean that they don’t have to travel outside the town to participate in school activities, town events, and they can better form bonds with other community members.
