A 39-year-old man found himself in trouble with the law after dialing 911 numerous times for no real reason.

The excessive, frivolous calls began coming in shortly after 11:30 last night from a home in downtown St. John’s.

Officers showed up to confirm the man’s calls were fake and arrested him for mischief and breaching the emergency 911 act.

He was held for court.
