The provincial government is eyeing a number of initiatives to support local workers, business and industry in light of the looming trade war with the U.S.
Ontario is cancelling its contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink, a service that Newfoundland and Labrador is using to improve cell phone coverage in Labrador.
The province is now looking at its procurement efforts with a Team Canada focus.
The provincial government is involved in discussions to expand and accelerate trade with other partners outside the United States and is directing and supporting collaboration with Team Canada, including procurement.
The province is also working with Ottawa to prepare supports for families and businesses affected by tariffs.
