The province has issued a request for proposals for a review of standards of care and funding models at community care homes.
According to government, such homes provide care and support for people with severe and persistent mental illness who require live-in support to be as independent as possible.
Submissions should include a jurisdictional scan and analysis, and make recommendations on a number of items including best practices, staff education requirements, staff engagement and work-life balance, recruitment and retention, and funding models.

The successful applicant will also be tasked with meeting with key stakeholders across the province.
There are currently nine privately-owned and operated community care homes in the province that provide residential accommodation, supervision, and care to more than 130 individuals with complex mental illness.
A review of long-term care homes, which provide care and accommodation to seniors and adults with complex care, and personal care homes, which provide care and accommodations to seniors and other adults who require assistance with activities of daily living, was released earlier this week.
Information on tenders and requests for proposals issued and awarded by the department and other public bodies is available online.
