The City of St. John’s laid out its recreation master plan this week, with hopes to create a new recreation facility in Ward 5.
The facility was part of the last master plan but did not get off the ground.
The plan calls for the framework to be released in the next three to seven years.
Ward Five includes parts of Goulds, Galway and Southlands and area councillor Carl Ridgley says talks need to start with the provincial government.

“This will be a big thing for not just Ward 5, but I envision a regional approach to this one,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to some conversations provincially and hopefully we can bring this to fruition quicker than the last.”
