Paralympian Liam Hickey has been named board director of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador’s as well as a member of the organizations Programs Advisory Committee.

Hickey, a former Easter Seals ambassador, got his start in the organization’s wheelchair basketball and sledge hockey programs.

In his new role, Hickey will be responsible for ensuring programs remain inclusive and effective for participants of various abilities.

His appointment comes as Easter Seals NL continues to expand its accessible park, which includes an outdoor rink and hardcourt surface area.

The Holyrood native says he is honoured to work with the organization that has had a major impact on his life and career.
