A one-day trial has been set for a former St. John’s lawyer facing child pornography charges.
Fifty-five-year-old Michael Drover is accused of making and possessing child pornography, as well as secretly watching or recording minors while they were naked.
At the time, in 2023, he was involved with running a café on MUN’s St. John’s campus.
Last October, his lawyer entered not guilty pleas on his behalf but there have been delays since then.
Then yesterday, a more definitive trial date was set for March 7.
Drover was disbarred in 2017 for misuse of clients’ money to the tune of almost $400,000.
