An NDP petition launched to have Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship revoked has garnered well over 193,000 signatures, with participation from right across the country.
Charlie Angus, the member for Timmins-James Bay, is petitioning the Prime Minister to revoke Musk’s dual citizenship status, and his Canadian passport immediately.
The petition cites Musk’s engagement in “activities that go against the national interest of Canada,” that he has “used his wealth and power to influence our elections,” and that he has “now become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty.”
As of yesterday, the petition had received just over 2,200 signatures from this province.
