The town of Port aux Basques is mourning the loss of a longtime restaurant after a massive fire broke out last evening.

Crews spent hours battling the raging blaze at Harbour Restaurant, with videos posted to social media showing the building engulfed in flame.

The restaurant, located near the ferry terminal, was a staple for tourists and locals alike for years.

There is no word on if anyone was inside the building at the time.

Mayor Brian Button calls it a sad loss for the community and sends his thoughts to the owners and staff.
