RNC is continuing its search for an ‘armed and dangerous’ man believed to be responsible for killing a man in east end St. John’s.
Nineteen year-old Ibrahim Hussein, believed to be armed and dangerous, is wanted on several charges, including murder, after a 33-year-old man was shot on Watson Street late Tuesday night.
RNC Cst. Jason Walsh says police were called to reports of shots fired, and found a man outside a home with serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died shortly after.
One person was taken into custody that night, but was released without charge.
Hussein was later identified as the suspect, but police have not been able to locate him.
He is is 5’8” tall, weighs 170 lbs, has dreadlocks, brown eyes, and is of Syrian descent.
Walsh says the incident was targeted, however anyone who may see him should not approach and instead report it to RNC immediately.
While the incident was targeted and there is no direct threat to public safety, Walsh says the fact that shots were fired in a residential area is a cause for concern, and understands residents may be feeling on edge.
