A special Mass to commemorate the life and work of Pope Francis will take place tomorrow evening from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
The 88-year-old Pope passed away on Easter Monday after a lengthy period of ill-health.
Pope Francis, the first pontiff from the Americas, and the first Jesuit to lead the Catholic Church, is being remembered as progressive and moderate on many issues compared to some of his predecessors.
The Pope will lie in state for three days of public viewing at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome starting today, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Peter’s Square on Saturday.
Tomorrow’s service at the Basilica in St. John’s is open to all. It takes place at 7:00 p.m.
