The Town of Paradise is paying a forever tribute to a young hockey player who passed away earlier this year following a battle with cancer.
J.D. Trainor of Paradise was just 16 years old when he passed away in January.

Yesterday, the town unveiled the sign for ‘J.D. Trainor Street’, which will be located in the town’s newest subdivision.
Parents Christina and Jerry Trainor are honoured by the gesture in memory of their son.
During yesterday’s unveiling, they relayed some of their favourite stories about J.D., some of which they hadn’t known until recently.
“When he was on the bus, There was a closer friend of his that was being bullied and so he just put an end to it,” said Jerry Trainor to VOCM News.
“He actually walked the kid home when he got off the bus every day. For months. I never heard that story. We never knew. He never ever told us. He didn’t want us to interfere in anything ever. He learned to deal with it on his own which was a very admirable quality for a young man this age.”
