The MHA for the region is thanking the many organizations and agencies that came together last week as fire swept through the communities of Adam’s Cove and Small Point, destroying dozens of homes and properties.
There was no loss of life, but many were displaced after a wild fire, fanned by strong winds, tore through the community, leaving some residents with just minutes to vacate.
Area MHA Steve Crocker is thanking the many first responders and others who stepped up during the disaster.
He’s thanking everyone from first responders to agencies and volunteers who were involved in the firefighting effort and those who helped to provide a safe place to be and hot meals for those who had to evacuate.
Crocker says they’re now in the process of helping those who lost their homes.
“As a province, as their MHA, we’ll make sure in the coming days that we’ll co-ordinate the necessary efforts to make sure that they can get their lives back to a sense of normalcy as quickly as possible.”
