The nurses union is optimistic now that a registered nurse has been appointed as the new Minister of Health.
RNU President Yvette Coffey says Krista Lynn Howell worked as a registered nurse on the Northern Peninsula, giving her important perspective on the challenges faced by nurses, particularly in rural areas.
Coffey offers medevacs as an example. “She gets it, because she knows, she’s lived it. She’s seen it herself in her practice as a registered nurse, so we are looking forward to those conversations.”
