The deadline for the Canadian Hard of Hearing’s Ultimate 50/50 draw is midnight tonight.

The jackpot total as of this morning was in excess of $290,000.

Director of Fund Development with the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, Terry Martin says the money raised helps people living with hearing loss.

He says isolation is the single biggest impact of hearing loss, and the psychological and social issues that causes.

“Mental health is one” says Martin, “how you get along with others at work, how you communicate with others at work and at home.”

He says the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association’s programs and services are designed to mitigate those challenges. “They’re serious, and they’re varied, they’re very unique and they’re individual to everyone depending on their circumstance.”
