Destination St. John’s is bullish about the impact of the 2025 Canada Summer Games, echoing the enthusiasm expressed by Dennis Hogan of the St. John’s International Airport Authority.
Hogan told VOCM News this week that he expects more aircraft on the tarmac at YYT this summer than at anytime since 9/11 as people converge on the city for the games in August.
The CEO of Destination St. John’s, Paul Buggé, shares that sentiment.
“He is right on target,” says Buggé. “We are expecting quite a summer ahead of us.”
He says with a new service to Winnipeg, “along with the expansion of direct flights from Calgary, Western Canada now has more opportunity to come experience Newfoundland and Labrador than ever before. And of course with our international connections seven days a week to Europe, we look forward to welcoming our European guests all summer.”
