The provincial government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands regarding the development of the wind-hydrogen industry.
Premier John Hogan signed the MOU while attending the World Hydrogen 2025 Summit and Exhibition. Energy Minister Steve Crocker was also in attendance.
The document is an agreement to collaborate and share information on green hydrogen issues, opportunities, and potential projects.
The province calls it a “mirror agreement” that complements a similar MOU with the Port of Rotterdam back in 2023.
Representatives from North Atlantic Refining, which is developing a project to export Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers to ports in Europe including Amsterdam, were in attendance. Also in attendance were representatives from Evos, a large scale developer at the port.
