The new Mews Centre, which has been plagued with delay after delay, is slated to finally open to the public this September.
The facility was originally supposed to open in the fall of 2023. That was pushed back to earlier this year, but an issue with the building’s heating and cooling equipment once again moved the finish line.
Now, the city says that issue has been corrected and ownership of the building has been transferred from the contractor to the city.
The city states a September opening will “minimize disruption to existing recreation programs,” and allow for staff training and other logistical preparations.
Further details will be shared closer to the opening date.
