Canada Post workers remain on the job this morning, however they’re being told not to log any overtime.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers had issued a strike notice to come into effect at midnight, but opted for an overtime ban after meeting with the corporation last night.
While no deal was reached, CUP-W members have been advised not to work beyond 40 hours a week.
Canada Post says there are no rotating strikes or work stoppage at this time and the mail will continue to operate as usual, though there may be some delays.
The union claims offers from Canada Post have fallen short of what workers are seeking when it comes to wages and part-time work.
Earlier this week, the mail carrier offered an agreement which included a 13 per cent wage increase over four years, however workers are asking for a 19 per cent wage hike to catch up with inflation.
CUP-W is continuing to review the corporation’s latest offers.
