A Hopedale man charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder was back before a judge this afternoon.
The case was called today while the court was on circuit in Port Hope Simpson.
But there was little progress since Michael Tuglavina has yet to be assigned a Legal Aid lawyer.
The 27-year-old was tracked down and arrested after one man was killed and another suffered serious injuries in Hopedale 11 days ago, on May 16th.
Police have not said how they were attacked, or if there was a weapon involved.
Nor have they identified the victims, but have said they all knew each other.
Today, a judge was told Legal Aid is still working on assigning a lawyer to the serious matter, which promises to be lengthy and complicated.
But they said defence counsel should be confirmed by the next court date, on June 6th.
Tuglavina, meanwhile, remains in custody by consent, or agreement of both the Crown and defence.
He was already on the docket facing 12 charges of breaching court orders, resisting arrest, uttering threats, assault and assault causing bodily harm, all prior to his arrest for murder.
