It’s construction season, and that means traffic will have to slow down in designated zones.
Many did not do so in the George’s Lake area on the west coast as RNC discovered during a recent traffic enforcement blitz. Speeding tickets were handed out with fines ranging from $130 to $1,170.
Constable James Cadigan of the RNC notes that a construction zone is a workplace, and drivers have to pay attention to the posted speed limit whether workers are present or not.
“These people are going to work in these spaces, so you have to reduce your speed as soon as you see the signage,” says Constable Cadigan.
