The preliminary inquiry has been set for a man accused of trying to help his brother get away with murder.
The case against 23-year-old Hussein Hussein continues to move through the courts at a brisk pace.
He was arrested April 10th, was released on bail May 14th, and this week had dates set for his preliminary inquiry on charges of accessory to murder after the fact, and resisting or obstructing police.
But it’s a different story for his 19-year-old brother Ibrahim Hussein, who remains in custody charged with the most serious charge on the books, first-degree murder, as well as gun offences and a dozen pre-existing charges of assault, uttering threats and failing to follow court orders.

The brothers were charged in the aftermath of the targeted shooting death of 33-year-old Gerald Kyle “Scrappy” Hynes on April 8th.
They were on the run for two days before being captured in the Marine Atlantic parking lot at Port aux Basques, with Ibrahim found hiding in the trunk of the getaway car allegedly driven by his brother.
Hussein Hussein’s preliminary inquiry, where all evidence is laid bare but can’t be reported, is set for November 19-20, and will determine if a trial is warranted.
But a lot could happen between now and then, and as early as this week, when the murder case is called again on Friday.
